Who said yoga’s for wimps, I’ll jump straight out of the warrior pose and kick some ass to the tune of OHM, I do tough guy yoga; it’s takes daily Jedi discipline.
If you think yoga’s for wimps try tough guy yoga
What is tough guy yoga you may be asking, well it use’s basic yogic stretches and techniques, martial art training and a little weight lifting, along with some qi gong moving meditation. if you’re luckily enough to have a training partner you can head of to the local park and go toe to toe with some sparing, completing your session with a site down meditation and some chakra balancing.
The result of such cross training is a four way between gymnast a boxers and the grace of a cute ballet dancer and the skill of a ninja, that makes for one bad ass kicking yogi 😉
Humanity keeps this yogi in check Meditation / philosophy
Come on who said yoga’s for wimps let me at UM, Yogis would be a set of bad ass MO FOs if we didn’t cool it down with the Zen mediation technique and a philosophy of personal development, which sets our path for continual improvement, emotional balance and non violence.
Yoga unlocks the power in tense muscles
I say again who said yoga’s for wimps, theirs no harm in doing a little stretching and breathing, to loosen up tense muscles for peck performance.
Would you call mad dog Tyson a wimp for stretching out his muscles, he’ll bit your head off, in one lunging stretch.
I seen a video of the former heaver weight champion Mike Tyson in training, he invests a lot of time stretching and breathing, before and after his intensive workouts, this stretching keeps this bad boys muscle supple and responsive – ready for action!
Flexibility is queen Power is king
The Balance in all things is in the weighing of is ying and yang
Tyson is one flexible dude, many of his competiter’s were tonk, built to kill, but they were big strong and powerful for nothings. Too slow and unflexible , how did he do it, well stretching, that mad dog had the reflex of a 5 ball juggler, and a body like 80s Schwarzenegger that equals bad ass, I think he needed some Zen mediation too.
Here’s my fitness story
I started my fitness career imitating my father, trying to lift his weights as I was only about 7 at the time, I was way over my head, so I had to make do with imitating the guys in my fathers material art movies.
As Time progressed I started to gain success with my father’s chest bar, sitting on the floor pulling it between my hands legs, anyway that was my introduction into fitness. A in my early 20s I was a healthy 92.07 kilo of solid muscle. I was ripped like HE man, untill one dark day, while I was working I had an incident, I pulled a muscle picking up a wimpy shirt.
Diet should be in proportion to activate
Four mouths of not training and eating the same quantity of food was not good combination, I had blown up and my belly started to hang over my belt. Four mouths of pop belly Lloyd was all I could take. I found yoga and got toned in a sort space of time. I discovered the importance of stretching and breathing.
Cross-training a Marriage made in heaven Yoga and pumping iron
After almost a year of not hitting the iron, yoga had fixed my back and reopened the door to the gym and the adrenalin rush of pumping iron.
But at 73.03 kilo this unlikely combination of pumping iron and yoga had unforeseen side effects. Cross training had transformed my body into that of a ninja no joke! Doing Yoga and pumping iron had given me the gymnast ability to perform at the level of a martial artist,Yoga prepares the body for high end athletic performance.
Yoga can transform your body
Improved balance, the new ability to do fancy kicks/punches, roles and flips that I had so loved as a child were now in my position. Well I can do a front flip, (still working on the back flip) – The point here is not necessarily to transform your self into a ninja but its to retain/regain the suppleness, flexibility and youthful energy, but trust me being a ninja will make you a star when you’re playing with the kids, cartwheel and rollies pollies etc – its great fun!!
Yoga was aldo preparation for more extreme sports like free running/ parkour (which consist largely of stretching, and power exercises great, but parkour a whole nother show!
Kundali / chi energy
On a serious side yoga also opened the door to a greater understanding of my health, internal energy and energy orbit’s around the body. This is not some thing that can be understood in text, it must be experienced through practice – its all about knowledge of self.
Is yoga for wimps well?
Fare enough if you only do basic stretches and poses for 5, 10 min every now and then, you’ll problem get blown away by the wind, if you practice a more intense discipline and a well rounded routine you will be very fit. If you work in some music and high energy dancing to get the heart beating, you’ll be vibingly fit like an African dancer, If you combined yoga with power exercises like weight lifting you’re on to a winner.
All in all is yoga for wimps
My belief is that in order to have a well around body and expression, supplementation of your activities is a most. This means a varied diet of exercise’s based on your personal health requirements and life style, Its a bit like being a fitness shopper.
